Oklahoma Store Named One of "50 Best" in the United States

Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa was recently named one of the “50 Best” Running Stores in the country by Formula 4 Media, producers of the Running Event for the 3rd straight year, every year the award has been presented. Fleet Feet Tulsa was the only Oklahoma retailer to make the Best 50 list for 2008. Faulkner, Brooks Best in Full Marathon; Jacobs, Lewis Claim Top Half Marathon Spots at Third Annual Route 66 Marathon 

Both the men's and the women's winning times of the 2008 Tulsa World Route 66 Marathon were course records Sunday morning. Jerry Faulkner of Tulsa set the men's marathon record with a time of 2:27.20. Gail Brooks of Waco, Texas set the women's record with a time of 3:02.46.

Over 5,000 runners participated in the events Sunday morning in Tulsa.

Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon named Best Amateur Single-Sport Event at 2008 SportsTravel Awards

October 31, 2008 from press release (OKLAHOMA CITY OK) Hailed by Runner's World Magazine as one of the 12 Must Run marathons in the world, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon was named Best Amateur Single-Event Sport at the 2008 SportsTravel Awards at the TEAMS 2008 Conference Expo, organized annually by SportsTravel Magazine and held last week in Pittsburgh.

On November 8, 2008 James E. McNellie’s Public House and Fleet Feet Sports of Tulsa presented the “James E. McNellie’s Pub Run,” a race for runners and beer afficiandos alike. The rolling 4 mile course started and finished downtown at McNellie’s Pub and went through the historic Blue Dome, Brady, Arena, and Business Districts. The Pub Run drew record participation this year.
